Description
Basil has large soft leaves in a vibrant green colour. The flavour is sweet and aromatic, with an uplifting spicy note that is often compared to pepper or aniseed.
Food
It matches beautifully with olive oil, oregano, thyme, garlic, onion, tomato, chilli, pasta, egg, zucchini, capsicum, pizza, and green salads. Basil can be preserved by infusing the leaves into vinegar or oil. It is the star ingredient in pesto.

Storage Bag
It is sensitive to cold so if stored in the fridge it needs to be in the vegetable drawer, inside the bag. Use within two days of opening. Basil can be kept at room temperature by standing the stalks in a jar of water, away from direct light.
