Our Bouquet Garni is the traditional French mix of bay, thyme, rosemary, and parsley. The flavour of these four herbs blends charmingly to produce a truly fragrant culinary bouquet.
Bouquet Garni generates aroma, complexity, and depth of flavour in the dishes it is added to. The herbs are tied together with string or bundled into a sachet, a pouch of cheese cloth, or a tea strainer. They are added to soups, stews, stocks and casseroles during the early stages of cooking, so that the flavour decisively infuses the entire dish. The flavour complements fish, seafood, chicken, turkey, meat, wild game, and vegetable dishes. The bundle is removed before serving.
Bouquet Garni herbs are full of micro-nutrients and anti-oxidants that improve digestive processes and contribute to general health. They increase the secretion of digestive juices and reduce the presence of infectious organisms.

Culture and History
Bouquet Garni was first mentioned in culinary texts in the 17th century. Undoubtedly French in origin, and still a strong tradition there, the mix of herbs has many variations, although bay and thyme are invariably present. Different recipes include parsley, rosemary, chervil, savoury, tarragon, marjoram or fennel.
