Culture and History
Rocket is native to the Mediterranean, from Portugal to Turkey, where it has been cultivated for over 2000 years. It was revered as an aphrodisiac by the Arabs, and was given to bridegrooms on their wedding night as a symbol of fertility. It was also forbidden in monasteries, for fear it would cause monks to break their vows.
